NEWS

March 2024 - Six weeks after surgery and we made my goal - being able to ride at Garfied.  Viv was fabulous at Garfield and ran a 73 to win the Novice Non Pro and a 73 again to come second in the Rookies to a cracking run by Ty Fielden. BIG shoutout to my herd help - thankyou so much for doing such a great job. If you don't have good herd help you are in trouble, they can make ALL the difference and my guys were great.

February 2024 - Very excited to announce that the Dual Reyish filly and the Rollz Royce filly have both been sold to fantastic people and competition homes - I'll let the new owners make announcements when they are ready.

February 2024 - Myrtleford with Vivian. I love this showgrounds and this show. Stunning place, great arena, wonderful committee. I didn't ride well but Vivian tried her heart out.

February 2024 - Breeding all done and hopefully we have on the way:

  • Metallic Rebel and Rey Loves Whiskey (bub will be a three quarter sibling to Futurity winner Lone Woolf)

  • Stevie Rey Von and Look at my Duck

  • Rollz Royce and Metallo Romance

  • Metallics MVP and Bobbys San Badger

BIG shoutout to Kurt and Kylie Enzinger and the great staff at Elite Equine for doing such a great job with my mares.

January 2024 - Second show for Viv was at Tristar. Such a wonderful facility and show. I am still not good at picking co operative cattle and the standard of competitors is very high but we still managed reasonable scores and Viv did some really nice stuff. What a wonderful place Tristar is! Martin and Leanne Moran have built a magnificent purpose built facility for the cutters. The industry is blessed to have them.

January 2024 - First show for Vivian and I and she was such a  good girl. We went to Garfield  and managed to place in each event . We are still a long way from really knowing each other and she has such a different style and way of going to Badge so I am sure I hindered her, more than helped her but she still got on with the job and tried her hardest. .

THATS A WRAP - 2023

December 2023 - NCHA Futurity saw the first Rollz Royce and Dual Reyish babies hit the pen and the wait was worth it. So many amazing youngsters. Fabulous to see so many Rollz Royce babies make the semis and see him become the 2023 Leading Freshman sire.

Metallic Rebel and Steve Rey Von had an amazing amount of finalists with the winner Lone Woolf being by Metallic Rebel.

December 2023 - Blessed with three fillies this year and they are all such lovely girls!

  • Metallo Romance had an outstanding big chestnut roan filly by Rollz Royce

  • Look At My Duck had a stunning chestnut rabicano filly by Dual Reyish

  • Rey Loves Whiskey had an exquisite chestnut filly by Smooth Talkin Style.

June 2023 - Excited to welcome the beautiful Cuttabar mare Cuttabar Looks Like Sugar to the family. A long time admirer of Fred and Kim Jhonson's cutters - their intensity, uncanny cowiness and extreme athletic ability are attributes I am striving to have in my program so I have been trying to add their  phenomenal damline.

The indomitable Colonels Destiny has  ALWAYS been a mare I have greatly admired - freakish on a cow herself and consistently producing that in  her foals and their foals so I was so excited when the Johnsons finally agreed to allow  Looks Like Sugar to join Jamuna ( after I started asking after her two years ago!)  She is by a stud I have always loved, Kit Kat Sugar and she is out of Looks Like A Cat - by WR This Cats Smart and out of Colonel's Destiny. LLC is a full sister to that illustrious family that includes This Cat's Destiny, High Destinction and Cuttabar Designer Cat .

June 2023 - Nail biting watching the go rounds and finals for the 2023 NCHA Classic Challenge at Tamworth with Doey battling it out on Lady Vivian against some of the hottest combinations in the industry. So excited for her to make the finals and ultimately place fifth, from a field of over fifty horses.

2023 was a very busy, exciting year and a huge learning curve with Bobby San Badger patiently teaching me the ropes out in the cutting pen. It took a long time for me to resist lifting my hand ( the legacy of being a reiner for thirty years and helping my horse with every stride! 😂) but eventually I learnt that Badge was totally trustworthy and we eventually started getting some decent scores.

So excited to have everything go right at Myrtleford and run a 147 in the 7500 Non Pro to win the class and receive a stunning buckle - our first one!

In saying all that,  my herd help went way beyond the call of duty and we could NEVER have done so well without their help, advice and support during that run.
